CAPE MAY

Now that we have our bikes, we can ride to the attractions at Cape May point.

On the way we saw a family of swans. The father hissed at us when we got to close. He was just doing his job to protect his family.

Now here's a joke : What kind of building weighs the least?
                               I haven't a clue
                               a lighthouse!
This was a long walk to the top, but the view was worth it.

While we visited the lighthouse we saw purple martins, I learned they some times rely on humans for shelter.

This is the SS Atlantus, an experimental cement ship. it sunk because a storm hit and the ship broke free of her moorings and ran aground 150 ft. off the coast.

Finally it was time for ice cream! I had swirl in a cup, Mom and Roy had vanilla in a cups, Dad had a vanilla in a cone, and Marie had a Hello Kitty popsicle. Yum yum.

When we came home Roy took his fishing pole out and started to fish. A few minutes after we all "heard fish on!" Roy had caught his first flounder! It was to small so Roy put him safely back in the water.

After the octagon house, I noticed that most of the homes we saw where decorated with curlicues, fancy shudders, peaked roofs, balconies , and lounge chairs.
On our way to rent bikes, we saw a beautiful purple house, named the octagon house. I discovered it was for sale!
